    Hey, I'm a flamenco/jazz guitarist from The Orange County High School of the Arts, trying out some more contemporary rock with a band. We're currently in the process of recording and just finished a pretty soft song, just want some advice etc to keep in mind while we record the rest. Anything you can throw out there would be greatly appreciated. Really trying to get a brighter sound out of my Mark V, anything I can change mic wise? I'm doing a mix of both the SM57 and 421, but I'm still getting mud.

Equipment wise:
1957 Gibson VOS --> Mark V --> 4x12 Avatar cab with vintage 30s --> Shure SM57+ Sennheiser 421

American J-Bass --> Markbass CMD102P --> SM57

Vocals were recorded with an SM58 Beta with a little bit of autotune haha.

Drums... Hell if I know.
